At the 29th annual Sports Emmy Awards competition last night (April 28), HBO won the most awards with eight; followed by Fox with five; ESPN with four; and CBS, NBC, TNT and ESPN.com with three each.HBO won the award for outstanding sports journalism for a Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel show entitled Headgames: The NFL Concussion Crisis.
Fox won for outstanding live sports special for its telecast of the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl and for outstanding live sports series for its Nascar coverage.
ESPN won for outstanding studio show/weekly for its College Gameday, and TNT won for outstanding studio show/daily for its Inside the NBA.
