ESPN Regional Television, a unit of ESPN, is creating a new college football postseason bowl game to be owned, operated and televised on ESPN, called the St. Petersburg Bowl.ESPN Regional Television already owns and operates five other postseason college football bowls: the Papajohns.com Bowl in Birmingham, Ala.; the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl (Fort Worth, Texas); the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl; the Pioneer Las Vegas Bowl; and the New Mexico Bowl.
The NCAA has certified the newest bowl game which will feature teams from the Big East Conference and Conference USA in a December postseason game.
ESPN Regional Television is a syndicator of collegiate sports programming, producing more than 900 sport events and accounting for 2,200 original hours of programming on a national, regional and local level.
