    Getting Your Health Insurance

    By Busines expert | July 2, 2011

Sleeping in your hospital bed, surprised over how fast you washed away your yearly savings? Avoid the replay by signing on to a health insurance plan. With a thorough study & comparison of the available schemes, you can find out the one which suits you the best.

First, think if you want to opt for a fee-for-service or a managed care plan. The former gives you the freedom of choosing the doctors and specialists for yourself against a high out-of-pocket cost. The latter, though has low co-pay, will give you a lower degree of freedom about the choice of doctors & specialists. Choose wisely between the three organizations viz. PPOs (Preferred Provider Organizations), POS (Point of Service) networks and Health Maintenance organizations.

If possible check with your employer for any available health insurance plans. You can also check in with your Alumni or Fraternity associations. Such options are much economical than opting in for private service providers.
