Tue Jul 29, 12:32 PM ET LONDON (AFP) - Blue chips closed firmer on Tuesday, amid gains on Wall Street as the price of crude fell, and as UK banks clawed back some of their earlier losses.At the close, the FTSE 100 index was up 6.6 points to 5,319.2.
Vodafone was the most traded stock, seeing 229 million units change hands, followed by Barclays which saw 152 million shares switch owners.
