Tue Jul 1, 6:36 AM ET LONDON (AFP) - Europe's main markets slumped on Tuesday, the start of the third quarter, as oil prices jumped back toward record highs, fuelling worries about rising inflation.London's FTSE 100 index of leading shares was down by 2.57 percent in value to 5,481.30 points.
Frankfurt's DAX 30 index slid 1.95 percent to 6,293.02 points and the Paris CAC 40 index dropped 2.16 percent to 4,338.91.
