WICHITA, Kan. (AP) -- Kansas aircraft manufacturer Hawker Beechcraft Corp. has been awarded an Air Force contract to provide new planes.The $171 million contract is for 23 extended-range King Air 350ER turboprops. The company said Wednesday the planes would be delivered in 2009.
Hawker Beechcraft will modify the aircraft for the Air Force with required equipment for advanced technology and reliability.
The Department of Defense bid announcement said the Air Force was also holding out an option for the possibility of six more planes.
