ROME (AP) -- Police in the Adriatic city of Pescara say they have arrested the governor of Italy's Abruzzo region in a health care corruption investigation.The Pescara office of the national tax police say Gov. Ottaviano Del Turco was arrested early Monday in the probe of the region's public health care system.
Pescara prosecutors say Del Turco has been picked up on a warrant accusing him of corruption, criminal association and extortion.
Other, lower-ranking regional health and financial officials also have been arrested. Prosecutors say at least 35 people are being investigated.
