WASHINGTON (AP) -- EnergySolutions Inc., which handles nuclear waste, spent $240,000 lobbying the federal government in the first quarter, according to a disclosure form.The Salt Lake City-based company lobbied on a bill that would prohibit importing certain types of low-level radioactive waste into the U.S, as well issues related to waste disposal and spent fuel.
Besides Congress, the company lobbied the White House and the Department of Energy during the first three months of the year, according to the form filed April 21 with the House clerk's office.
