WASHINGTON (AP) -- Eye care products supplier Alcon Laboratories Inc. spent $240,000 in the first quarter to lobby the federal government on prescription drug importation, according to a disclosure report.Alcon also lobbied the federal government on Medicare and Medicaid legislation.
In the January-to-March period, Alcon lobbied the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the House of Representatives, the Senate and the Executive Office of the President, according to the report filed April 18 with the House clerk's office.
Switzerland's Nestle SA, as of March 31, owned 77.2 percent of Alcon stock.
