WASHINGTON (AP) -- Aluminum producer Alcoa Inc. spent $530,000 in the second quarter lobbying the federal government on power availability, defense contracts and other issues, according to a recent disclosure report.The Pittsburgh-based company also lobbied on proposed legislation that would create a "cap and trade" system of limiting emissions and letting companies that cut emissions sell credits.
In the April-June period, Alcoa lobbied Congress and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, according to the report filed July 16 with the House clerk's office.
