    About Ethics of Information Technology

    By Busines expert | July 14, 2011

Information technology may have been a boon to nearly all the ventures, yet it cannot hide its drawbacks and negations which might pose a potential harm to the society. Hence software developers and business people need to strictly follow some IT ethics.

The presence of exclusive data of financial and social transactions available on the internet can pose a terrorist threat to the innocent. Such associations ‘mine’ such important demographic data which is further used for harmful deeds.

Though social networking websites allow people to befriend each other, issues such as insufficient security levels, auto crawlers which steal important data from the user accounts without permitted by the user, etc. serve as a potential threat.

SPAMs were earlier seen plainly as a nuisance but today some of them pose a big hazard, with links containing superficially attractive message yet are potentially dreadful. Another issue of concern is the illegal distribution of protected media across for free without the consent of the owners.
